I have a pdf file that I want to print. Most of the pages have pictures on it that are in color. I only want the cover to print off in color and want the rest to print in black & white. Is there any way to convert only certain pages to gray scale? If so, how and what program would I need. Thanks!!

Answer
I don't if it is something changable with printer options or if you have the source document you can convert the cover into color pdf file while the rest of it into grayscal pdf file then print off them.

The pdf creator support to change the color to grayscale when converting.

How to improve the readability of a PDF file containing unsharp characters?

Marco Meer

I have a PDF File that has unsharp (low pixelrate characters) characters. I cannot rescan the papers.
Is there software that "fills in the gaps in characters" converts the characters to a more readable form?

Answer
Adobe of course offers PDF editing software, but that can be expensive for a quick fix.

I would recommend Solid Converter PDF as it allows you to do simple text correction in the document by clicking what you need to change.

How do you program a hyperlink in a PDF doc to open into a new browers window?

I am converting Word docs to PDF. If an exisiting browser window is open when you click on a hyperlink in the PDF doc it opens in the exisiting browser window instead of opening a new window. Why is this? How can I make it so the hyperlink always opens a new browser window?

Answer
I am not sure if this can be changed for a PDF document, but you can change your personal Internet Explorer settings to always open up in a new window:

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced (tab) > Browsing (section) > Reuse windows for launching shortcuts (checkbox).

This is assuming that you are using Internet Explorer too, for other web browsers I am sure there are similar options.

What is the best way to protect my PDF eBook?

I made a PDF from a Microsoft Word document. So far so good. Now what is the best way to protect my PDF eBook to ensure I don't get thousands of unauthorized copies of my PDF eBook floating around the internet?

I don't want to use a simple password to protect the PDF document, because judging by the amount of unauthorized PDF copies of other eBooks I have seen available on the internet, that security method is very weak.

Answer
Protecting your PDF ebook only with a password is a very weak method, as you say. This blog post below might help you. It gives you some free and paid options to get the PDF ebook protection you likely need;
