Q. I download pdf files from online. The document has fields to be filled in. I open it with Acrobat 7 and fill in fields. When I save and close it, nothing is saved. What parameter do I need to change to get it to save my data?
I'm using Adobe Acrobat Professional, not reader. I have used this to edit, and save, other pdfs but some do not let me save my data.

A. As you have mentioned, you are using Adobe Acrobat which is professional in editing pdf files, so I'm wondering if the pdf you wanna edit is protected by owner password or other restriction.
Try to find a password remover, like AnyBizSoft PDF Password Remover. It helps you remove the owner password of pdf files which prevents people from editing, copying and printing.
Hereâs where you can download it.

Kindle vs Nook and can you download PDF files onto them?
Q. Which one is better/more worth the money? I am looking into it for someone who wants to buy one for his wife for a birthday present. Can you download PDF files onto them? He wants to be able to put the scriptures on it.
A. Both can handle PDFs, but realize that PDF is ideal for print, not ereaders. Formats that reflow naturally to accommodate the display size are much better for ereaders. If you must view a lot of PDF, you're best off with an iPad, which has a big screen and excellent PDF support. If that's too much money, consider a Kindle DX or one of the Sony Readers, which have better PDF support than either Kindle or Nook. Setting aside the PDF issue...
Buy a Kindle if you're most interested in long-run reading. Its E Ink Pearl screen is better than monochrome Nook's older E Ink Vizplex screen and much better than Nook Color's LCD screen for reading text.
Buy a Nook Color if you're most interested in apps and games and browsing the web. Reading long-run text is as tolerable as it is with a computer monitor, and the Kindle's capabilities in the non-reading areas pale in comparison.
There's really not much reason to buy a monochrome Nook now that Kindle will have support for library lending soon. Kindle's E Ink Pearl display has 50% better contrast than Nook's older E Ink Vizplex.

How come When I print pdf file from Adobe reader some of the pages are encrypted?
Q. I downloaded PDF articles from the PLOS website but my problem here is that when I print after 5 pages the article is written in strange codes. I even tried other Open Access research Journals that have PDF files and the same results happen. Is there a problem with reader?
A. This is because the person which makes this pdf has encrypted some pages of that pdf. There is functionality while creating pdf files to encrypt some pages. The encryption is done to not read the pages by the people who not purchases the original pdf file. Thanks.
Can a pdf file download harm your computer?
Q. Is it safe to download pdf manuals or files of that nature from file sharing sites? If only a pdf is shown being downloaded could there be other files being downloaded that harm your computer, or is downloading these files safe?
A. Yes, PDF files CAN harm your computer! There is something called an exploit, which uses vulnerabilities in software and operating systems in order to harm your computer. My suggestion is to have a good antivirus installed (which is realtime) such as Avira - www.avira.com Avast - www.avast.com or Comodo - www.comodo.com (Comodo is for advanced users) on your computer, this will actively protect you against threats.
To prevent these exploits, I would run your Windows updates regularly (instructions on Windows updates can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/update/ ) and keep your PDF reading software up to date.
I recommend Foxit reader which can be downloaded here: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/ for viewing PDF files. I recommend this because it has less chance of being exploited because most exploit writers exploit Adobe reader when exploiting PDF files. Foxit reader is also a lot lighter and is more gentle towards your machine.
File sharing sites most of the time are dangerous (as a lot of users intend to harm for some attention) and I would only download files from TRUSTED users. And always have common sense. A good way to tell if a file is infected is to upload it to a site like www.virustotal.com. If your computer gets infected, I recommend using scanners such as those mentioned here: http://malwarescanners.web.officelive.com/default.htm and for removal I recommend this guide http://realsecurity.web.officelive.com/removemalware.aspx
